An important part of our mission is to stimulate, facilitate and support research utilizing and/or about Medical Simulation.

Current research projects include the following:

• Reducing error and improving recovery from error: Fixation error in an anesthesia task
• Testing educational and assessment methods: Simulation vs. lecture; and simulation vs. oral boards
• Developing and implementing measures of teamwork & training: methods to assess teamwork training
• Debriefing: what it is; how to best do it
• Testing usability and human factors of devices: infusion technology, device prototypes
