Healthcare teams are dealing with challenges never before seen and are experiencing extreme stress and damage to culture and individual psychological health. This webinar will introduce a system for communication that supports both staff resilience and sustainable excellence in care delivery.

This is an online course facilitated by one or more instructors and delivered via Zoom, a web conferencing platform. All materials and course interactions will occur online. In order to participate fully, each person must have:

  • Their own computer, tablet, or mobile phone
  • Reliable high-speed internet access (minimum 3 Mbps upload/download speed)

Each individual – even those participants who are from the same institution – needs their own computer and computer headset (microphone and earphones).

  • Crisis routines for resilience and quality: The Circle Up system of briefings, supportive check-ins, and Debriefings
    • Shift-to-shift: The resilience and quality feedback loop
    • Running mental rehearsals
  • Approaches to facilitating Circle Up briefings & debriefings
  • talk2support: Cross-monitoring and check-ins for proactive peer support

Course Objectives:

Following this webinar, participants will:

  • Apply the Circle Up system to coordinate healthcare team- and task- work
  • Facilitate pre-shift briefings
  • Coordinate mental rehearsals to prepare for complex care episodes
  • Facilitate post-shift/post-event debriefings
  • Use talk2support to support other team members
