DESCRIPTION:Anesthesia Crisis Resource Management (ACRM) Training for Nurse Anesthetists\nThe Center for Medical Simulation (CMS) is offering a specialized\, intensive one day workshop as a Pre-Congress Workshop for the AANA 2018 Annual Congress. \nThe Center for Medical Simulation’s Crisis Resource Management Simulation Course will allow Nurse Anesthetists to improve their skills in managing and debriefing routine and critical clinical events\, particularly in the realm of acutely deteriorating clinical situations\, and managing difficult conversations with colleagues. \nTarget Audience:\nThis workshop is meant for all Nurse Anesthetists in clinical practice. Nurse Anesthetists often experience difficult communications. They need skills to communicate clearly and work effectively with their team members to mitigate adverse events. This course will help them to hone these communication skills. They will also benefit from practice in managing low frequency high stakes critical events\, for which they have few opportunities to maintain their skills not only clinical skills but organizing the team in a crisis. \nGlobal Course Objectives:\n\nUnderstand and become familiar with the principles of Crisis Resource Management\nUnderstand and practice the clinical management of high stakes low frequency critical events occurring in the perioperative patient\nPractice teamwork skills applicable to the perioperative environment to improve management of crisis situations including cardiovascular collapse\, securing an airway and managing a resuscitation.\n\nLearn more about the Gateway Debriefing Skills Workshop \nLearn more about the Gateway Debriefing Skills Workshop preceding the 2018 Nurse Anesthesia Annual Congress September 21-25\, 2018.
