SUMMARY:Weekly Webinars: Craft the Value Proposition for Your Simulation Program: Be a Strategic Asset and Generate Buy-In
DESCRIPTION:Tuition\nPremium – $249 USD\nNOTE: Tuition covers 1 person to participate in the workshop. No additional viewers are allowed. \n\nApply Now\n\nAbout this workshop\nThis highly interactive workshop will help participants start wherever they are and learn to state\, analyze and pitch what their simulation program can do to make a difference in their organizations using simulation\, using the idea of a “value proposition.” \n“Value proposition” is a term from the design thinking world. It describes a clear and potent statement of the appeal of a product or service. With our value proposition we explain to customers and partners how we can solve their problems or reach their goals. \nPowerful frameworks from strategy\, medical simulation and applied-experiential learning will fuel our thinking and action. Learners will contribute their own real cases and can expect to leave with a concrete road map for action. There will be two cycles of learning. In each cycle we: 1) introduce key concepts\, 2) allow learners to apply them individually and in small groups to their program and get feedback\, 3) avoid and troubleshoot common pitfalls and sustain and strengthen and sustain strong value propositions. \nLearning Objectives\nFollowing this workshop\, participants will be able to: \n\nRecall and apply main goals of translational simulation and SimZones as applied to organizational problem-solving\nApply the concept of “frames” in discovering and meeting other people’s needs so you can craft a value proposition\nRecall and apply critical gap and goal analysis to rigorous identification of clinical\, communication\, teaming needs\nPractice an “elevator pitch” of your value proposition\n\nPre-workshop Preparation\n\nRead 2 free articles:\n\nBrazil V. Translational simulation: not ‘where?’ but‘why?’ A functional view of in situ simulation. Adv Simul (Lond). 2017 Oct 19;2:20. doi: 10.1186/s41077-017-0052-3. PMID: 29450021.\nRoussin CJ\, Weinstock P. SimZones: An Organizational Innovation for Simulation Programs and Centers. Acad Med. 2017;92(8):1114‐1120. doi:10.1097/ACM.0000000000001746\n\n\nPrint free worksheet: The Value Proposition Canvas\nWatch this three minute video about value propositions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReM1uqmVfP0\n\n\n\nEquipment Requirements\nThe workshop is delivered via Zoom\, a web conferencing platform. All materials and course interactions will occur online. In order to participate fully\, each person must have: \n\nTheir own computer\, tablet\, or mobile phone\nReliable high-speed internet access (minimum 3 Mbps upload/download speed)\nMicrophone and speakers (built-in\, headset or from webcam)\nOptional but preferred: Webcam\n\nHost\n\n\n\nAnn Mullen\, RN\, MSN\, CHSE\nProgram Manager\nCenter for Medical Simulation\, Boston\, Massachusetts\nPresident\nFoundation for Healthcare Simulation Safety \nAnn has over 30 years of experience in critical care nursing and staff education. Prior to joining CMS\, Ann was the Program Manager of the Shipley Medical Simulation Center at Newton-Wellesley Hospital where she was responsible for program planning\, faculty training and ongoing faculty development. Her interests include faculty development\, debriefing and simulation safety. \n\n\nInstructors\n\n\n\nJenny Rudolph\, PhD\nExecutive Director\nCenter for Medical Simulation\, Boston\, Massachusetts \nDr. Rudolph is an organization behavior scholar who has helped health educators world-wide promote dynamic\, honest\, but non-threatening conversations through the “debriefing with good judgment” approach to reflective conversations. Dr. Rudolph is a life-long athlete who brings the joy of practice to learning in healthcare education\, especially feedback\, debriefing\, and collaboration at point of care. \n\n\n\n\n\nChris Roussin\, PhD\nSenior Director\, Education Leadership and International Programs\nCenter for Medical Simulation\, Boston\, Massachusetts \nDr. Roussin is an innovator in simulation program and faculty development\, devising new ways to use simulation to build relationships\, quality\, safety and meaning in healthcare work. He has significant experience creating strong partnerships in complex healthcare organizations to build sustainable and culture-changing programs based in experiential learning and positive communication\, collaboration and feedback approaches. \n\n\n  \n\nLearn more about Weekly Webinars: Connecting and Learning with CMS \n\n\nPolicies\nPlease review the important policy information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPayment\nCancellation\nEnrollment\nCourse\n\n\nThe Center for Medical Simulation accepts payment by credit card\, wire transfer\, money order or cashier’s check in U.S. dollars.
