Together\, Dr. Demian Szyld and Dr. Janssens will discuss the results of a systematic review which examined how leadership is shared within healthcare emergency teams\, exploring the how and why of leadership sharing across ER\, Trauma\, and resuscitation teams. Dr. Janssens will also share the results of her empiric research on leadership sharing within simulated maternity emergencies and what it means for those teams responding to emergencies in the clinical environment. \n“Should we demolish traditional medical ‘lighthouse leadership’ to ensure our teams function more effectively?” Tune in to hear Dr. Demian Szyld speak with Dr. Sarah Janssens to get her thoughts on the subject and open up a conversation about leadership research. We will make the entire webinar recording available after it concludes in the Resources section of our website\, including sharing any links referenced during the webinar. \nHost\n\n\n\n\nDemian Szyld\, MD\, EdM\nSenior Director\, Faculty Development Program\nCenter for Medical Simulation\nBoston\, Massachusetts\, USA \nDr. Szyld is an Emergency Medicine physician at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and a Lecturer at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Szyld was the first Simulation and Education Fellow at the STRATUS Simulation Center at BWH and is actively involved in the Society for Simulation in Healthcare and has chaired the Formal Training Affinity Group\, led the Affiliations Committee and served as an Accreditation Site Reviewer and completed a term on the Board of Directors (2016-2019). \n\n\nPresenter\n\n\n\nSarah Janssens\, MBBS\, FRANZCOG\nOBGYN Physician\nMater Mothers’ Hospital\nSouth Brisbane\, Queensland\, Australia\nChair\nRoyal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology’s Simulation Training Advisory Group\nMelbourne\, Victoria Australia\nClinical Simulation Director \nMater Education\nSouth Brisbane\, Queensland\, Australia \nDr Sarah Janssens studied medicine at the University of Queensland\, Australia and began working as a specialist at the Mater Mothers’ Hospital after completing training in in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2012.  While continuing to work clinically\, Sarah is also the Clinical Simulation Director for Mater Education and Chair of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology’s Simulation Training Advisory Group. Sarah’s interests in simulation include procedural training and interprofessional team performance.
