These informal discussions often take place during meal breaks during courses or in the hallways at conferences. These questions often lead to interesting discussions and sharing of resources.

Demian Szyld, MD, EdM

Dr. Szyld is an Emergency Medicine physician at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and a Lecturer at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Szyld was the first Simulation and Education Fellow at the STRATUS Simulation Center at BWH and is actively involved in the Society for Simulation in Healthcare and has chaired the Formal Training Affinity Group, led the Affiliations Committee and served as an Accreditation Site Reviewer and completed a term on the Board of Directors (2016-2019).

Ann has over 30 years of experience in critical care nursing and staff education. Prior to joining CMS, Ann was the Program Manager of the Shipley Medical Simulation Center at Newton-Wellesley Hospital where she was responsible for program planning, faculty training and ongoing faculty development. Her interests include faculty development, debriefing and simulation safety.
Mary Fey, PhD, RN, CHSE-A, ANEF

Dr. Fey has has been working in the field of clinical simulation since 2007 and has been responsible for developing clinical simulation programs, integrating simulation into nursing curricula, and designing simulation labs. She has completed both qualitative and quantitative studies on debriefing and provides faculty development to interprofessional groups of simulation educators.
Chris Roussin, PhD

Dr. Roussin is an innovator in simulation program and faculty development, devising new ways to use simulation to build relationships, quality, safety and meaning in healthcare work. He has significant experience creating strong partnerships in complex healthcare organizations to build sustainable and culture-changing programs based in experiential learning and positive communication, collaboration and feedback approaches.
Henrique Pierotti Arantes, MD, PhD
Medical Course Coordinator

Dr. Arantes is a physician and coordinator of the Master Education Institute President Antônio Carlos (IMEPAC) medical course. He completed residencies in Clinical Medicine and Endocrinology which inspired his desire to teach. He went on to complete a master’s and doctoral degree from UNIFESP and then he continued to specialize in Educational Health Processes with Emphasis on Constructivist Educational Technologies by the Syrian-Lebanese Institute of Teaching and Research (2017). He has national certification by the Brazilian College of Radiology and the Certified Clinical Densitometrist by the International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) in Bon Densitometry. In 2019-2020, he was the coordinator of the Department of Bone Densitometry in Management at ABRASSO. He was selected as a representative of the ISCD in Latin America in May 2020.
