Mary Fey, PhD, RN, CHSE-A will be one of fourteen fellows to be inducted into the Academy of Nursing Education this September at the National League for Nursing (NLN) Summit in Chicago. Dr. Fey is the Associate Director of the Simulation Educator Training Program and a principal faculty member at the Center for Medical Simulation (CMS). Dr. Fey led the team that developed CMS’ one-day introductory debriefing course, Gateway to Debriefing with Good Judgment. She formerly served as the Vice President for Outreach on the Board of Directors of the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL). She will be the second CMS faculty member to be inducted into the NLN Academy of Nursing Education, following Dr. Janice Palaganas’ induction in 2017.

Dr. Fey has been heavily involved with the National League for Nursing and co-authored the NLN Vision Statements: “A Vision for Teaching with Simulation” and “Debriefing Across the Curriculum”. She has published qualitative and quantitative studies on debriefing, and has co-authored several of the Standards of Best Practice, Simulation. She serves on the certification committee for the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.

Dr. Fey will be co-instructing the Comprehensive Instructor Course at CMS in Boston on October 1-5 and October 22-26.
