CENTER FOR MEDICAL SIMULATION (CMS) – DASH© DEBRIEFER RATER TRAINING WORKSHOP
Debriefing clinical simulation experiences is increasingly understood as a crucial step in clarifying and consolidating insights and lessons from simulations. CMS’ Debriefing Assessment for Simulation in Healthcare© instrument (DASH©) is designed to assist in evaluating and developing debriefing skills. It evaluates the strategies and techniques used to conduct debriefings by examining concrete behaviors. The DASH is based on evidence and theory about how people learn and change in experiential contexts, and is designed to allow assessment of debriefings from a variety of disciplines and courses, varying numbers of participants, a wide range of educational objectives, and various physical and time constraints.
CMS will be conducting an online DASH Rater Training Webinar on January 28th from 5:00-9:00 PM US EST (UTC-5). Previous participants in the rater training have said they find it very useful in providing feedback to debriefers or formally assessing their debriefing skills. The training will be led by CMS’ senior faculty members Robert Simon, EdD and Jenny Rudolph PhD.
If you are interested in attending the workshop, please apply now and select January 28, 2015 as the course date from the list of courses. Click here for more information about the DASH or contact Gary M. Rossi, COO at grossi@harvardmedsim.org or 617.726.3041.
