Janice Palaganas SimhealthThe Center for Medical Simulation is pleased to announce that Janice Palaganas, PhD, RN, will be delivering the Debra Spunt Lecture at the National League for Nursing Education Summit on Friday, September 23, 2016.

The National League for Nursing (NLN) Education Summit takes place this year in Orlando, Florida from September 21st to September 23rd, 2016. The summit facilitates nurse educators from across the world to meet and discuss service, collaboration, research, best practices, and professional growth.

Janice Palaganas serves as the Director of Educational Innovation and Development at CMS. In her lecture, “Know Bounds to Know No Bounds,” Janice will discuss simulation as a platform for interprofessional education. She will explore how clinical care is brought to life via simulation, and how these simulations help bring to the surface hidden assumptions and thought processes which members of different professions hold. Simulations, along with debriefings, allow us to develop common ground and new appreciation for the contributions of each profession to patient care.

Janice will show how simulation can expand professional boundaries and create powerful organizational change. She will bring simulation to life with cutting-edge research, real clinical examples, and interactive audience exercises.
