CMS’ Mary Fey PhD, RN, CHSE-A was invited to be a speaker at the Lippincott Nursing Education Innovation Summit on February 23-24 in New Orleans. Mary and Sue Forneris, PhD, RN, CHSE-A co-presented “Teaching Thinking,” a session based on their recently published monograph, Critical Conversations.
The summit was divided into three tracks for participants: Clinical Reasoning, Nclex® Success, and Teaching Strategies. “Teaching Thinking” focused on helping nursing educators practice and implement the most effective strategies for fostering critical conversations across simulation, classroom, and clinical learning environments. Top nursing educators, program deans, and directors participated in the inaugural event which featured a keynote address from world-renowned nursing education and simulation expert, Dr. Pamela Jeffries, Professor and Dean of George Washington University School of Nursing.
