The opening plenary session of IMSH 2018 in Los Angeles, California will feature Jamie Hyneman, best known for his work on the television show Mythbusters. As part of the keynote, “When Does Realism Matter?”, CMS Chief Curiosity Officer Dan Raemer will interview Hyneman about his work, his sources of inspiration, and what Hyneman hopes to achieve in the future with modeling and simulation. Among other topics, the keynote will explore Jamie Hyneman’s multiple amputation trauma trainer, which is currently used by the United States military. The trainer led to a massive retraining effort to ensure that wounded soldiers were cared for immediately in the field.
The keynote will take place in West Hall B of the Los Angeles Convention Center, Sunday, January 14th, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM.
