The Center for Medical Simulation (CMS) welcomes Evan Hodell MD, who is spending the month of March at CMS on an elective simulation rotation. Evan is in his final year of Anesthesia Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. He hopes to use his simulation training next year as a U.S. Navy Anesthesiologist to improve team skills and efficiency across a range of clinical and military medical operations. Evan is originally from California and enjoys home improvement projects and outdoor activities.

CMS’ elective simulation rotation is available to anesthesia residents of the Harvard Teaching Hospitals here in Boston. The goal of the rotation program is to expose residents to the potential and operational use of simulation for education, clinical training and research. Over the course of the month, residents develop simulation scenarios including patient records, plot, setup, debriefing notes, and references.
