International Healthcare Workgroup Comes Together at CMS

Blog - International Healthcare Workgroup Comes Together at CMS

A global gathering took place at the Center for Medical Simulation (CMS) on March 25th to discuss the emerging role of human factors science in healthcare. EvalTec, a human factors science group, was joined in Boston by the Hospital Virtual Valdecilla (HvV), the Instituto de Investigation Marques de Valdecilla (IDIVAL), and MedStar Health’s National Center for Human Factors in Healthcare. The day was spent planning for EvalTec’s application of human factors science in service to the Santander, the Independent Region of Cantabria, Spain, and ultimately Europe and Latin America.

EvalTec, now a little more than a year old, is a pioneer human factors group in its devotion to healthcare in Spain. This exciting project holds great possibilities to enhance patient safety and clinical effectiveness internationally. Robert Simon, Senior Director of Educational Leadership and International Programs at CMS, facilitated the meeting at the Center’s Charlestown location.
