Center for Medical Simulation Announces Leadership Opening

Blog - Center for Medical Simulation Announces Leadership Opening

The Center for Medical Simulation (CMS) is now accepting applications for the position of Associate Director, Education Leadership and International Program. The Associate Director of ELIP is a team player responsible to help the organization achieve its overall mission and goals by collaborating with simulation and healthcare education partners and leaders worldwide to design, implement, and study simulation-based education, application of simulation to improve measurable outcomes, and system testing and improvement.

The Associate Director of ELIP will embrace CMS’s “deliberately developmental” philosophy that encourages us and our colleagues to apply the principles of reflective practice and engages others from a stance of curiosity and respect in everyday work.

Working with the ELIP leadership and the entire CMS team (including a large international adjunct faculty), the Associate Director of ELIP will contribute to client engagements, local and international teaching, and innovative research.  This role will also contribute toward the recruitment of new clients and affiliates to help them advance education, patient safety and simulation-based research in their geographical regions. The Associate Director will consult and guide, teach educator courses, lead activities to bring our communities of practice together, and build and sustain relationships with CMS affiliates through empathy and problem-solving activities.

Individuals with appropriate credentials will be eligible for appointment to the faculty of Harvard Medical School as an Instructor or Assistant Professor. (Note, appointment as Harvard faculty does not constitute employment by Harvard. Employment is with MGH/CMS).
