The Center for Medical Simulation (CMS) welcomes Hilary Gallin, MD, MBA, who will be spending the month of February at CMS on an elective simulation. Hillary is in the final year of her Anesthesia Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. She hopes to use her simulation training next year during her Obstetric Anesthesia Fellowship at MGH to improve patient safety surrounding obstetric emergencies. Hillary is from Westchester, NY and enjoys cooking and playing squash.
CMS’ elective simulation rotation is available to anesthesia residents of the Harvard Teaching Hospitals here in Boston. The goal of the rotation program is to expose residents to the potential and operational use of simulation for education, clinical training and research. Over the course of the month, residents develop simulation scenarios including patient records, plot, setup, debriefing notes, and references.
