The MGH Institute for Health Professions (IHP) held its hooding ceremony for graduates of the Master of Science in Health Professions Education (MS-HPEd) program on June 9, 2018. Roxane Gardner, MD, MPH, DSc, MS-HPEd delivered the opening remarks for the event and was pleasantly surprised when she was acknowledged for her achievements in medical education and simulation. Dr. Gardner, who completed the MS-HPEd program at IHP in 2016, was awarded the Outstanding Alumni Award.
For close to 20 years, Dr. Gardner has been a faculty member of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where she helped develop and co-directs a simulation-based perinatal team training and obstetrical safety drills program.
In 2002, Dr. Gardner joined the Center for Medical Simulation (CMS) and helped design, implement and co-direct a human simulation-based team training program for labor and delivery personnel as well as simulation instructor education. Dr. Gardner is currently the Senior Director of Clinical Programs, Director of Simulation Fellowship and International Scholars Program, and Director of Labor and Delivery Crisis Resource Management at CMS.
